Hello Everyone! Happy 2019

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I decided to take December off from a lot of social media, and keeping up with the bare minimum. This enabled me to have time to rest, I hibernated a lot in December! I was working a lot in my new business.

For those of you who missed it, my husband and I went into business together. This has also been a fantastic shift. We love the time we are spending working together. Our family time has increased and we are now working with the kids on work ethic. They also have been helping the family by working!

Balancing schedules has been the largest shift in going 100% self-employed. I have had to really take a look at the time I have and make things a priority.  The Tuesday Tidbit has a large audience and taking the month of December off allowed me to see what my schedule is able to accommodate.

I am not able to do weekly tidbits any longer, but I can do a few of them a month.

The tidbit is made to have information in seven minutes or less! Essential Oil education has been the foundation of the tidbit, and at times we talk about personal development. Sometimes, we talk about stones or crystals… each week has been so much fun engaging with the audience.

Journaling Challenge 2019

I am so excited about 2019!

There is always something refreshing about a new year. One of the things I attempted to accomplish in 2018 was to journal. I did well for about a week and then…well…things got “busy”. So this year when I purchased a new journal for 2019, I asked myself “How can I get through the entire year? What needs to happen?”

Well, first thing is setting the intention, then go out and find support. So I decided to just randomly ask on Facebook who would be interested in this concept for 2 weeks? Closed group, and we hold each other accountable. I was shocked to see so many people respond, at this point I knew I was on to something. So I created the group.

Dear Limits…I am now an author!

Last year I was approached to co author in a book with other female entrepreneurs.  At first….I giggled…thinking it was spam. Little did I know that this journey would be a process of hard work, brainstorming and digging deep.

Simple Rules When You Work From Home

Working from home is freedom from the commute, co-workers in the flesh, drama at the water cooler. Some days you get dressed, some days you wear sweatpants. The thing about working at home is having discipline. Especially, if your self employed and you do not have to check in with a boss.

I used to work from home in my early twenties as I had a thriving network marketing business. I got into the workforce about age twenty-two. A few things that happened to me while I ran an at home business, the worst was the weight gain. I had managed to gain a lot of weight during working from home. The next time I worked from home, was in my thirties. I knew better this round, I made myself some rules as well.

I am in the home office a few days a week, I am able to manage my time and do not spend longer than two hours at the desk per day. I also have been able to manage weight and stress of being home alone. Routine is essentially the best route to take, but I am not always routine. Lets talk about some of the simple ways I keep it together while I work from home.

Here are some things I keep in mind as I work at home:

  •  Me Time:  After I drop off my kids at school I go home. I start a bath, here is where I spend 20 minutes of my day listening to personal development. I like to listen to audio books on business, self-improvement, relationship building and more. This is vital to my day going on track, and helps me start it off positive. This has been with me for 3 years now. It serves me well.
  • Get Dressed: Makeup. Shoes. Pants. The whole enchilada. You need to be looking good to feel good. Helps your focus and attitude. Rock the red lipstick in that home office. Life is short. Get with it girlfriend!
  • Move your Body: Make sure to get some sort of workout in. I love the short workouts, some days I do something off my pin board or do some yoga before my bath.
  • Schedule. Stick to It: Scheduling your day helps a lot. I try to do this most days, and some days the best laid out plan goes haywire. So focus on doing the best you can and be flexible. Your methods may change, but end result should be the same. I even schedule pickup times for kids, lunch time, break if I have a longer day in the office. I try to not be in the office for more than 2 consecutive hours in a row.
  • Work in an INSPIRED SPACE: I cannot even express how vital this is. I have recently been spoiled by the home office in the last 9 months. It has made a huge difference for me. I can leave things out, and no one will touch them. This I find is huge if you’re a mommy… no finding that document later hanging up, with a picture colored on the other side…I have been there. I feel much more productive having all my work stuff in ONE space, I feel like I get more work done. It has a vibe. I made it beautiful. Put positive saying on the wall, brought in my nicest diffuser, decorated my office with love.
  • Mute Phone: If I have a something that I need done that day, I do not have time to waste by the distractions on my cell phone. I was working on a deadline for a book I am a co author in, I had to turn off the phone, shut off internet. No sideline distractions. Some of my favorite distractions are messenger, texting and shopping online. You just have to put it on hold to get any real work done!
  • Drink LOTS of Water: It is easy to get dehydrated when your working hard at home. Put water on your desk, I use a lot of essential oils in my water so I drink it faster. I love to use grapefruit, lime, lemon oils in my water. I find that if I am on conference calls all day, I have a hard time with the water. Just remember, you are well, and all is well around you.
  • Use Lists: make a to do list. Morning and Mid Day. I am very realistic about the list and sometimes, I am not. I recommend if your overwhelmed by lists you should start with three things. These three things can be simple or long tasked. Start small, set yourself up for success. If you make too long of a list, you will feel bad about yourself at the end of the day for not accomplishing the list. So…start with those three and add more tasks as needed. Seeing the list done at the end of the day is much more refreshing than feeling like you did not get anything done.

I am sure there are more guidelines to post regarding working at home. These are a few simple ones that have really worked and gone the long haul for me. I find on my balanced days… I love my work from home days. I still find myself at my day spa two days week seeing my loved clients.  I just have figured out the perfect balance to running all my businesses. Much love.

    Why your Closet is your Best Asset

    I been busy with my home and things over the last few months. I have been working on so many projects with other entrepreneurs, and finishing the book I am co authoring in. In the meanwhile, life is happening. My kids are growing, I am growing too.

    With my growth, comes with ideas for this blog. During the holidays we were busy packing and trying to have a normal holiday. Things were moving fast. I try really hard to slow down and enjoy those “moments” we have in our day-to-day routines. One of the days that caught my attention was my son, Ranger. His behavior on a certain day, when he wore a specific outfit. I noticed a change in his normal behavior, I realized it was his outfit he was wearing. I even asked him about his outfit. He absolutely loved it. The funny story was I had purchased this outfit on clearance for a few bucks, because it was cute. It sat in the closet for almost a year until it finally fit, I love to shop that way for my kids. . . saves a ton of money!!

    thumbnail_FB_IMG_1493182258058Here is my six-dollar outfit that made a little boy come out of his shell. When I asked him about the outfit, he said he felt special, it made him feel good. He loved his “Special” outfit. I could tell he was happier that day, smiled a lot and felt confident. He wanted to wear it everyday after….

    This child has a mother who is a clothing junkie. I will admit, I have a lot of clothes. I love to have new items on the regular…I will admit, after a 3 or 4th wear, I usually will sell it. I resale them to fuel my habit of not wearing an item more than a handful of times. Resale is a great way to keep your wardrobe fresh, if you take good care of it.

    I always have known that the clothes we wear send a message to the world. Every time we leave the home, we are “out there”. We are now vulnerable to the opinions of others. I have always felt like I dress for success, even as cliché as that sounds. After the interaction with my son, I felt like I needed to look more into the science behind what we wear.

    I knew there was some psychology about our wardrobe. I went out on the search for information on this subject. I was fascinated about what I found, and I was right. We are what we wear. Not only on the outside of our bodies, but the inside as well. Our mental health and emotional well-being was being affected by what lies inside the closet.

    The first thing I stumbled upon was clothing was used as a silent social status, since in modern times we do not have an actual “caste system”. Basically, we have created a silent system with our choice in style. This something that is happening whether we realize it or not. I personally did not even think about this, but then I began to think about trends… sparkly butt jeans…those were popular for a while…maybe still are. But the ladies had them, and they shined all day in those blingy jeans.

    Now when it comes to how we feel, the positive aspects of what we wear become full circle.  When we feel a certain way, we dress a certain way. So for example, if your feeling depressed the sweatpants may come out. When you’re at the top of your game you may feel like getting the short skirt out or the sun dress. Some of the studies done did show that we feel our clothes make us happy. We shop for things that look appealing to us, and overall naturally we all want to look nice. Also studies show, that HOW WE THINK, is linked to our clothing!!! So if you’re dressed nice and clean…vs…not showered and in sweatpants…how do you think you would think differently in each style of clothing?

    Nicer clothing helps us open up to the world. When we take the time to take care of ourselves, the world will notice. Our clothes tell a tale about how we feel about ourselves, how we interact with other people and most importantly, they assist us in having more positive interactions. You are more likely to ask for that promotion in your amazing new shoes. It is a mental boost, and its a boost some of us desperately need. We need all the help in life we can get, this is something you can control.

    After spending a few days looking up information on this subject, I decided I needed to share this. We have so many things we need to get done in a day, let’s do it in a beautiful outfit that flatters you, and makes you feel alive. I also will give kudos to my son Ranger, for reminding me that “special” clothes, are really that special.

    Want to get started now? Get going, get into that closet. Try everything on. I MEAN EVERYTHING. If you do not feel like a “10” in that shirt, it HAS TO GO. This is an exercise I teach some of my mentor clients. IT WORKS. I know you will probably have some stuff that piles up because it’s a nine…but follow the rule. TENS ONLY. Once you get this done, for some will take weeks, you will begin to feel the difference in your TEN CLOTHES. Also, use this rule when you are shopping for new items! Don’t let anything get purchased that is not a “10”. Trust me. This is worth doing, and you’re doing it for YOU. In the end, it will be YOU, not your closet that is your best asset.

    Clients who follow skin care regimens are very diligent about after care. The work that is done in the facial room is working for a long time after the facial is done. There is not a huge list of after care items, but there are a few things you will want to keep in mind after a facial.

     

    • Stay away from touching extraction sites.
    • Try to not apply makeup, let skin breathe.
    • Keep sun exposure to a minimum, sunscreen if needed.
    • Do not attempt to do any peels or scrubs, retinol.
    • No washing your face. Let those products work for you!
    • No steam or sauna rooms for 24 hrs.
    • Enjoy your results.

     

    Most facials are not invasive. You will get many benefits from a facial. It will bring life to dull, lifeless and congested skin. You will notice a difference after the facial. You will feel smoother, tighter and skin will be soft.
